2012 Golden Easter Egg Runner Represents Socceroo Star

Soccer0o Tim Cahill is eagerly awaiting the running of the Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park this Saturday April 7, 2012.

Cahill is the co-owner of Fancy Dean, who will be running in the $250,000 Golden Easter Egg.

The Golden Easter Egg is the richest greyhound race in the world.

Fancy Dean will be looking to notch up his first ever Group 1 win in the 2012 Golden Easter Egg.

The talented dog  finished second in the Golden Easter Egg semi-final last Saturday and has posted some impressive form coming into the race.

Cahill owns Fancy Dean along with friend Con Hansimikali, who has known the soccer star since he was 13 years old.

“Tim was home two years ago and we got talking about how I owned some greyhounds and he said he would be interested in part owning one one day,” Hansimikali said.

“I suggested part owning Fancy Dean together and that’s how it all started, and he has been an enjoyable dog to own.”

Time And Money will also run in the 2012 Golden Easter Egg this Saturday night.

Time And Money is owned by trainer Tony Bragg along with three of his friends.

“We took her to some trainers and they weren’t interested at all. She didn’t show any potential,” Bragg said.

“We took her back to my house and started training her there ourselves.

“When we started, we didn’t know anything about greyhounds. We’ve had to learn everything.

“It’s awesome she has got this far. We never expected it to happen.

“She’s been the dark horse all her life, so who knows what will happen.”
