Lacoste and Iso Octane on the move

Promising Queensland galloper Lacoste has been transferred to the Victorian kennels of Peter Daprain.

Lacoste (Just The Best-Tad Smarter) was flown south at the weekend by trainer Christina Apap.

Daprain has recently returned to training greyhounds after working in the GAP program in Victoria.

Lacoste has put together an impressive record of 15 starts for eight wins and five placings.

His best being a 30.07 sec win at Albion Park.

Connections believe he will be suited by the numerous one turn tracks in Victoria.

No such track presently exists in south east Queensland.

Daprain intends to set Lacoste towards the up-coming Cranbourne Cup series.

Another Queenslander on the move could be Iso Octane.

The former Sandown Park track record holder could be off to Ireland for stud duties.

Former trainer Darren McDonald was negotiating with clients in Ireland to take the dog when he finishes racing.

The son of Pure OctaneTiny Milly is raced by Tyrone Whittington and Greg Sprod and has been in the hands of Tony Brett this year.

With Brett, Iso Octane has won 12 of 14 Albion Park starts.

All up he has won 27 races in 63 starts.

“He’s won $100,000 since he came here in May,” Brett said.

The December 2007 red fawn can add to that record when he competes in the best eight at 8.52pm Queensland time tomorrow night at Albion Park.

Iso Octane dropped a pin muscle mid-year and took a few runs to get back to 100%.

He has won his past three and the latest in 30.03 sec.

“There is not much on for the top grade sprinters up here,” he said.

“I think he could make a really good stud dog.

“He has a fantastic temperament.”
