Befitting out of Big Dog Challenge

Outstanding Queensland galloper Befitting is a scratching from tonight’s heats of the Big Dog Challenge (600m) at Albion Park.

Trainer Barry Dull said the Fernvale flyer had come down with the scours overnight.

“There was no way I was going to risk her,” Dull said

Befitting was likely to be a raging hot favourite for tonight’s heat which also sees the scratching of Dashing Prince.

Dull was planning on taking the bitch to Victoria for the up-coming Group 1 Sale Cup series at Christmas time.

He said he is yet to decided on immediate plans for Befitting.

Befitting has been running scorching times over the 600m having won eight of her past nine Albion Park starts, five of her past six over 600m and has broken 35 sec on four of those occasions.

Tonight’s heat is still full of quality with  Isadel, Metz Magic, Mercy Rule and Pure Adrenalin.

Metz Magic is stepping up to the 600m for the first time and has drawn box one.

The National Sprint Champion looked a little lack-lustre last week but his class and the step up is just what he needs.

The second heat sees the Graeme Bate trained Stack ‘Em Flat start from box two.

He ran a super race when narrowly beaten by Iso Octane over 520m last week.

The step up to 600m is perfect.
