It is a bumper few nights of racing for greyhound fans this weekend with two Group 2 races to be decided.
Things kick off on Friday night with the $28,000-to-the-winner Group 2 Traralgon Cup (513m) in Victoria. Eight of the country’s best sprinters will line-up in the final including the pronounced favourite and multiple Group winner Cindeen Shelby.
Kel Greenough’s classy bitch is coming off devastatingly good form having won her last five starts including the Traralgon Cup heat last week where she ran a sharp 29.74 at her first look at the track.
Cindeen Shelby starts from box six on Friday night and faces some tough competition including Prince Fuser drawn well in box three and coming off two wins here. Other top chances include Galba Jack jumping from box two and the speedy Bloss’s Benson out wide in seven.
The 2010 Traralgon Cup is scheduled as race eight on Friday night due to jump at 9:42pm. To back Cindeen Shelby for her sixth straight win head to IASbet.
The excellent racing action continues on Saturday night at Wentworth Park with the $25,000-to-the-winner final of the Rapidvite Peter Mosman Classic (520m) featuring New South Wales best up-and-comers.
Early favourites including the Kenneth Cheetham-trained son of Big Daddy Cool New Divide, and Dave Irwin’s Queensland speedster That’s Just Me, also from boom sire Big Daddy Cool who was the fastest qualifier last week. Both dogs are seeking their fourth consecutive win and have drawn ideally in boxes one and two respectively. Another top chance is Neville Brown’s classy sprinter Tuiaki in box three who has a powerful finishing burst.
The Peter Mosman Classic Final will jump at 9:57pm as race eight at Wentworth Park on Saturday. Our tip is to box New Divide, That’s Just Me and Tuiaki for the trifecta with IASbet.
There will also be plenty of eyes on the Tweed Heads track on Saturday night for the eight heats of the Group 2 Border Park Galaxy (420m). As Australia’s richest non-TAB race, the final worth $25,000-to-the-winner, there are big name trainers and top class dogs lining up left, right and centre in Saturday’s heats including three-time Group 1 winner Fedex in the opening qualifier.
Below are the final field and box draws for the Traralgon Cup and Peter Mosman Classic. Don’t forget to check out the hot betting markets for all these great races at IASbet today!
