GRNSW Country Challenge Orange Cup Final Preview

This Saturday night, January 23, Bathurst GRC is set to host the final of the GRNSW Country Challenge Orange Cup Final (520m).

One of the highest seeded finalists is the Cherryl Bradley-trained Laurie’s Blue. The son of Surf Lorian claimed victory in heat one last week in his first look at the Kennerson Park  track, giving him his third win in his last five starts.

In box three, the Ashley Lamb-trained Hot September is a consistent dog coming off some great recent form and boasts the best time at this distance, a sizzling 30.15.

Despite not being able to beat True Kihael in the heats last week, Hot September is still one to watch.

But the one to beat on Saturday is True Kihael, the Kim Hyde-trained runner going for their third successive victory.

True Kihael, who took out the Golden Easter Egg Consolation Final last season, has secured the prized rails alley for the final and with an impressive 53% winning strike rate the son of Trewly Special is sure to start as the favourite.
