Ballarat Cup Final Preview

This Wednesday the next feature group greyhound race of the year will take place, the Group 2 PETstock Ballart Cup (450m).

Classy young sprinter Dyna Lachlan is set to start the final as the odds-on favourite, currently sitting at $1.90, after defeating their rivals in the opening heat last week jumping from box one and has drawn favourably again with the inside box for the final.

However the Andrea Dailly-trained runner will find plenty of competition with the quality final field also consisting of the promising Timberland, currently at $5. The fast starting Timberland, trained by Darren McDonald, ran a blistering 25.10 in their heat and will be looking to replicate their sizzling speed on Wednesday, but will have to overcome the awkward box five draw.

Darren McDonald will also be represented in the final by Rev Limiter (box three). The Cranbourne based trainer is attempting to win his second Ballarat Cup following his win with Wild Pirate back in 1992. While Dyna Lachlan’s trainer Dailly also has Manuel Bale (box seven) in the final.

The $30 000 to-the-winner Ballarat Cup Final will run this Wednesday December 9, scheduled as race eight on the night’s fantastic 12 event card and is set to jump at 9:28pm (VIC).
