Disintergrate Wins Tasmanian Gold Cup Final

The Charlie Gatt-trained Disintergrate claimed victory in a stunning display of ability in Thursday night’s Betfair Tasmanian Gold Cup Final at Elwick.

Jumping from box seven, the favourite at $1.90 after qualifying fastest in last week’s heats, Disintergrate gained the lead and charged down the straight to defeat Anthony Dawson’s  Stylish Monty ($4.80) by four-and-a-half lengths with Eagle Eye ($6.40) a further two-and-a-quarter lengths back in third.

The winner clocked a sharp 25.97 seconds over the 461 meters at only his second start at the track, the same time he won his heat in, proving he has the talent and ability to go a long way.  Disintergrate now boasts 16 win from 29 career starts.

Following the victory, Disintergrate looks to return to the track for the coveted Group 1 Hobart Thousand series next month, the heats taking place on December 10.
