Friday afternoon Queen Elizabeth Park at Casino will host the exciting final of the Blue Paws Super Series Final (484m) worth $5000 to-the-winner.
Quality events like the Blue Paws series means greyhound racing has become big business in Casino as the sport is enjoying phenomenal growth in the country town of NSW.
Prominent NSW breeder-trainer Margaret Dwyer is well represented in the final as two of her best speedsters, the up-and-coming young dog Mad Max (box four) and race favourite Surin’ Sal (box six) are set to star in the race on Friday.
Another fancied runner is the Charles Northfield-trained Rapid Puzzle who has displayed consistently good form lately winning two and placing second in their last four starts. Rapid Puzzle has the added advantage on Friday as he starts from box one.
Beryl Stephen’s Karanne Star boasts the fastest personal best time on the track, a very slick 27.35 seconds and a good jump from box three will see this dog set the pace early.
Every week the Casino Greyhound Racing Club records more and more nominations as the quality of dogs competing at the track continually improves, and the club receives the highest number of nominations per meeting from all the NSW greyhound clubs.
The Blue Paws Super Series Final is scheduled as race eight on the programme for Friday afternoon and is due to commence at 2:14pm.
