Elite Blue Size Wins Belmont Veterinary Clinic Final

Last Thursday afternoon Maitland was home to the Belmont Veterinary Clinic 4/5 Grade Final (450m) and as expected it was one of the week’s most exciting dog races with Elite Blue Size claiming victory.

Elite Blue Size, trained by 2008 Australian Trainer of the Year Reg Kay, easily defeated Lightning Shot by four and a half lengths with the Jason Mackay-trained Window Watcher a further length and a half back for third.

Runner-up Lightning Shot finished eight and a half lengths behind Window Watcher in the heats, but atoned for the earlier disappointment edging out the fastest qualifier for second place in the final.

Second fastest qualifier in the heats, promising youngster Hurricane Luke only managed sixth place behind fifth place getter Myron’s Angel and fourth finisher Sicilian Wave.

The win brings Elite Blue Size’s record up to five wins in just seven starts and was the speedster’s fourth consecutive victory.
