On Parole On Fire At Dapto Classic

The six heats of the Group Two Country Winnebago Dapto Puppy Classic were held on Thursday night with On Parole, Puddy Muddles and Jedd Lion as the leaders of the pack.

On Parole was the standout of the night giving Adele Powell a win by finishing ten lengths in front with 29.94 after staying close to rail for the duration of the race.

Allan Manwaring’s Puddy Muddles ran a solid 30.01 at $1.30 after dropping a grade from the Group One Vic Peters Classic at Wentworth Park where the greyhound finished third behind Dancing Surf.

Jedd Lion impressed trainer Ray Webester with a 30.03 win at $1.40 after beating On Parole in the recent Nowra Spring Puppy Classic.

Last night’s heats were restricted to greyhounds sold at the 2008 Dapto Puppy Auction and the event’s semi-finals will be held next Thursday.

The $50,000 final will be held on November 26 which coincides with the running of the Melbourne Cup at Sandown.
