The Great Chase Heat Results – Ballarat

Wednesday night Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club held the final heats for the The Great Chase.

Originating in 2003, The Great Chase is a fantastic series where community and disability groups get to become involved in the excitement of greyhound racing. Every year community group carers and clients are invited to their local greyhound clubs where their very own greyhound is assigned to them for the series.

Prizemoney won by the dogs is awarded to the respective clubs, and the winning heats were worth $500.

On Wednesday night at Ballarat, 16 community groups were cheering on their dogs in two action packed heat runs.

The first heat was won by Diamond Tulip in 25.47 seconds, one-and-a-quarter lengths ahead of Barnstormer with Hot Chance a further length back in third. Diamond Tulip represented the McGregor House at Ararat.

Obama Beauty reigned supreme in the second heat of the night, defeating General View by an easy five lengths with Big Desire finishing third. The Eureka Village Hostel claimed the $500 prize for Obama Beauty’s victory.

The semi-finals will be conducted on November 18 at Geelong and Cranbourne ahead of the much anticipated The Great Chase Grand Final on November 25 at The Meadows.
