Queen Lauryn Out of Macro Meats Shootout

Star sprinter, Queen Lauryn has been withdrawn from Thursday night’s Macro Meats Shootout Final at Sandown and will be replaced by Mantra Lad.

Trainer Tony Brett noticed Queen Lauryn had sustained a minor injury to her off-side hip when she did not appear 100% in training this morning. Brett notified Greyhound Racing Victoria stewards, who officially withdrew her from the highly anticipated race.

Her trainer had no qualms withdrawing her from the Shootout, hoping to have her fit and ready for the all important Melbourne Cup heats next week.

The defending champion, Mantra Lad, was first reserve and has taken her position in Box 5. The scratching has given the 2008 winner a shot at becoming the first ever greyhound to win two Shootouts.
