Pages Hire Summer Cup Heats

This Saturday Night Wentworth Park will be home to the Group 2 Pages Hire Summer Cup heats.

Prolific Victorian greyhound trainer Graeme Bate has a strong hold over the field in heat one, represented by two elite runners, superstar Amity Bale (box two) and the talented Jarvis Bale (box four). Bate also has Whitfield Bale entered in heat two finishing off his triple assault on the event.

There are plenty of other quality dogs however, set to fight for their place in the final, which offers $25 000 to-the-winner, and give the Bate crew a run for their money.

The up-and-coming Salvatore, trained by Eric Castle, has drawn much attention of late and will be running in heat one.

Despite the difficult draw of box 3, Salvatore is proving to be a strong stayer at only two years of age, having won both of his 720m starts. His last four wins have been in succession, so he is certainly in fine form. He may be a big green, but Salvatore is definitely a dog to watch both on Saturday night and in the future.

Amity Bale, however, still looks the one to beat having just beaten The Meadows track record.

Another notable race run at Wentworth Park Saturday night is the Hotham Body Blue Paws Final (520m).
