Tadmore Buckshot has won the GRNSW Country Challenge Dapto Cup Final on Tuesday night in a sensational victory that saw the dog lead all the way to win the $5000 prize for his connections.
Trained by Simon Ma, the winning runner clocked a sharp time of 30.09 seconds over the 520m race, defeating Pop Rocker (30.14s) by three quarters of a length with third placegetter the John Lawson-trained Future Fund (30.21s) a further length back. The fastest qualifier in the heats, Quiet Observer, managed a respectable fourth.
The win elevates Tadmore Buckshot to third in the overall standings of the 2009/2010 series with 11 points, after he received eight points for the win Tuesday night added to his three points allocated after finishing sixth in the Muswellbrook Final on Sunday October 25.
Future Fund received another six points for third, and he remains the current leader with 21 points ahead of Mighty Albert with 14. The impressive Mighty Albert has qualified for the Lithgow final leg this Saturday and will have a chance to steal the lead.
