Rainy Canberra Produces Double Winners

Despite the pouring rain on Sunday night, Canberra’s ten race card continued on as normal and produced to double winning trainers.

Canberra trainer Mark Chalker received his first victory with maiden Pedro’s Mobile which won his first career race after beating short priced favourite Silverwater and Daper Mickie in 25.90.

The trainer’s second victory came with maiden Ebony Devil, the little sister to Pedro’s Mobile.

The black bitch had trouble to start with however managed to come back with an eight and a quarter win.

Gunning Trainer Andy Lord also managed a double with the Mark Gatt owned Ritza Surf which won the Canberra Mower Services 5th Grade 530m event in front of Blue Sky Blues and Anna Osti in 31.04.

His second win was from maiden Unique Unit which won a mixed grade Climate Doctor Sprint in 18.06 after beating Aranda and Garland Jewel.

The feature finals of the evening produced some fantastic winners with Julie Brodie’s Realon Melody taking home the best performance of the night after a 17.95 win in the Valley Tavern Novice Sprint Final.
