Back Page Wins Fourway Kennels

The Gary Thorpe-trained Back Page has claimed an emphatic victory at Thabedan Racecourse on the weekend in the open class Bundaberg race. The Bingera favourite defeated Hervey Bay Flyer in the 1st/2nd grade Fourway Kennels race with Maverick Lee coming in third. Rounding out the race was Smokey Girl and Sister Cool.

In the third grade Ross Gray Motor City race, Tiger Swift proved to be too fast for second and third placegetters Major Billy Blue and Pie Guys.

Other race results include the victory of John Betro’s Gin Gin’s Forceful Lady in the AAStat Stationery maiden race ahead of Diamond Tulsa and Ella Scott.

Fancy Speed won the Fixit Auto maiden defeating runner-up Nothing Wild and third-placed sprinter Cobar Charlie.

Saturday also saw the first of the Bundaberg Greyhound Racing Club Anniversary Cup heats take place.

Gardener sped past its opponents taking out heat one ahead of the Bucca-trained Smart Emma and third placegetter Coyote Babe.

In the second heat Convincing Talk was victorious, with Seb’s Memory and Ten Dancer trailing.

Enforcing beat Oh My Papa and Black and Gold in the third heat.

Another Neville Cumner owned dog, Langer, was the winner in the final heat of the day. The Bucca trained dog beat Solid Shiraz and Octane Bell.

All the winning dogs will now continue on to the next Anniversary Cup round, the competition for fourth-fifth grade dogs.
